The Pharmacy Technician will assist in performing paraprofessional tasks that will ensure a high quality of pharmacy service.

YourJob Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Registered technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy or Pharmacy student current Pharmacy Intern License
- 1 year of Pharmacy experience preferred
- Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred
- Computer skills preferred, but not required
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and patient privacy standards set by the department as well as hospital
Job Responsibilities
- Reviewing and updating patients' medication records, ensuring they are accurate and up to date
- Collecting and organizing patients' medication histories
- Identifying discrepancies between medication orders and actual usage
- Consulting with healthcare professionals to clarify any discrepancies and make necessary changes
- Explaining medication instructions and any changes to patients or their caregivers
- Assisting in the transition of care by ensuring that medication lists are accurate during admission and transfer
- Supporting the pharmacist to ensure prescriptions are filled correctly
- Documenting interventions and outcomes of the medication reconciliation process
- Maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with healthcare regulations
