Overview
RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. As a Sonographer, you will operate your assigned machine to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. You will guide patients through the exam process with clear communication and provide patient-centered service within professional standards.
This is a temporary (PRN) position working as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesduties and responsibilities
:
- Screens patient before exam for precautions or contradictions, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure.
- Explains and prepares patients for sonography imaging procedures, including explanation of the procedure and patient positioning to access the appropriate anatomy.
- Performs routine and advanced sonography imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in diagnosing and treating patient illness or injury, with minimal supervision, and provides patient support by talking to patients throughout the procedure.
- Adjusts sonography scan parameters as needed.
- Follows physicians orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Maintains an orderly and clean work area and promotes safety for patients and co-workers.
- Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
- Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
- Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary.
- Assists with training of new associates, providing resources and technical expertise, as applicable.
Performs other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications- ARDMS registered technologist, current and in good standing.
- Graduate of the AMA-approved school of radiography.
- Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
- RT, RMT or ARDMS Certification.
- OSHA Class I exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform sonography procedures independently.
- Certification in imaging specialty.
- Bilingual.
