Scope of Role

We are looking for an experienced and talented IT System Administrator to join our team in Richardson, TX. This individual will be responsible for providing technical support and daily administration for application servers, networking equipment, servers, PC hardware, telephones, cabling, and connectors. They will be responsible for maintaining system logs and instructing the users in the basics of PC and network functions.

This person must follow corporate guidelines for network access, purchasing policies, and security. The individual must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to document work through the Dentsply Sirona ticket system.

Responsibilities for Employment
  • Provide advanced customer service and technical support to end-users for hardware and software to identify root cause, and provide technical support
  • Analyze, research, and resolve complex end-user escalation incidents or issues and troubleshooting from other IT support staff; elevate as necessary
  • Install, configure, and test installed hardware and software on new or existing devices, in accordance with standard procedures
  • Set up new equipment and devices; set up and maintain workstations; provide appropriate access to applications, systems, and data
  • Provide guidance and explain policies and procedures to IT support staff and end-users
  • Perform server administration tasks (ex: user/group, security permissions, group policies, print services); research event-log warnings and errors; and monitor resources to ensure that systems architecture components work together seamlessly
  • Monitor data‑center health using existing management tools, and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers when needed
  • Maintain internal infrastructure requirements, including laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates; support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments
  • Communicate and translate technical information to non‑technical end users; maintain communication and monitor incident through resolution
  • Participate in the maintenance, implementation, troubleshooting, and end‑user support for applications, mobile devices, and servers
  • Implement security policies and protocols
  • Review, update, and maintain documentation to ensure internal processes and procedures, workflows, and training manuals are current
  • Review and evaluate new hardware and software products; recommend the implementation of new products
