Platform Engineer

Position Summary

Design, implement, and maintain Confluent Kafka environments across both cloud and on-premises platforms.

Build and support scalable, real-time data streaming architectures for high-volume data processing and analytics.

Play a critical role in ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performance streaming infrastructure in mission-critical enterprise environments.

• 6+ years of experience with Apache Kafka, preferably Confluent Kafka with RBAC.
• 4+ years of experience with Confluent Cloud deployments.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience with Confluent Cloud, including fully managed connectors, ksql
  
  DB/streams, consumers, and producers in high-volume, mission-critical environments with replication across two remote data centers.
• 6+ years of experience managing Kafka on-premises infrastructure, including brokers, Zoo Keeper, connectors, ksql
  
  DB/streams, consumers, and producers with cross‑data center replication.
• 6+ years of experience working in cloud environments, preferably GCP.
• 8+ years of Linux/Unix system administration experience.
• 6+ years of experience in large enterprise production environments with strong HA/DR knowledge.
• 6+ years of experience in performance tuning and optimization.
• 6+ years of experience with TCP/IP networking fundamentals.
• 6+ years of experience implementing security policies, authorization, authentication, and compliance standards to protect sensitive assets.
• 6+ years of experience with Unix scripting and automation.

• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code using best practices and established design patterns.
• Design and implement complex software solutions, including CI/CD pipelines and real‑time streaming architectures in cloud environments.
• Collaborate with business partners, product owners, architects, security teams, and IT engineering teams to gather requirements and define technical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and direction for software design and development initiatives.
• Review designs and code, offering recommendations for continuous improvement and optimization.
• Improve Dev Ops processes and drive automation wherever possible.
• Conduct research on emerging technologies, design principles, and frameworks to keep solutions modern and future‑ready.
• Demonstrate strong strategic thinking by defining vision, plans, and long‑term goals while evaluating short‑, medium‑, and long‑term impacts.
• Apply analytical thinking to break down complex problems into manageable components and evaluate solutions systematically.
• Coordinate multiple stakeholders and resources to solve complex technical challenges.
