Brief Overview of Position
The Audio/Visual Collaboration Engineer is part of an industry-leading IT team working in a fast-paced environment at Texas Capital Bank. Under the general guidance of the Manager, this individual will be responsible for engineering, design, architecture, day-to-day task support, assisting in voice, collaboration and video conferencing systems configuration, administration, and operation. This includes completing preventative maintenance checks, diagnosis, and repair.
Responsibilities- Ability to work under pressure and tight timelines.
- Support and troubleshoot live events (Town Halls, Fireside Chats, etc.) and resolve issues with workarounds as needed.
- Ensure real-time collaboration, voice, and video conferencing systems from Cloud and Managed Services providers are available to Texas Capital Bank end users.
- Provide Tier 2 level support of various collaboration, voice, and video systems at TCB.
- Knowledge of programming/configuration of services installed by third-party A/V integrators.
- Manage proposals, including coordination of installers and tracking of time and materials.
- Create a Bill of Materials, drawings, and assist with estimated time frames for A/V integration into new builds.
- Serve as point of contact with A/V service providers, vendors, and internal A/V escalation support.
- Utilize network performance monitoring tools to isolate root-cause issues (e.g., Cisco RM, Solar Winds).
- Collaborate with IT network engineers to resolve hardware, software, or other system problems and replace defective components with vendors and MSPs.
- Remediate A/V hardware to meet security vulnerability requirements set by the IT Security team.
- Commission new conference rooms and provide on-site training with local office staff when installation is completed.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s degree related to the AV field or 5+ years of relevant experience.
- 5+ years of experience installing, configuring, and maintaining professional A/V equipment (such as video switchers and extenders, amplifiers, speakers, control systems, and microphones) from brands like QSC, Shure, Crestron, Biamp, Cisco.
- General understanding of IP communications and protocols including TCP, UDP.
- Technical understanding in design, configuration and troubleshooting of collaboration technologies.
- Experience installing and troubleshooting AV and IT-related infrastructure (cabling, connectors, rack assemblies, etc.).
- Ability to read and comprehend AV system design diagrams, specifications, and technical manuals.
- Experience with managing Cloud-based Inter Op solutions.
- Knowledge of TEAMS, Cisco Web Ex, IM, Web collaboration applications.
- Experience with Cisco codecs, video displays, and microphones.
- Experience with tabletop cable terminations, mounting speakers, pulling cables, mounting flat panel displays.
- End user support for all Unified Communications - collaborative applications, video, VoIP telephone services.
- Research new products to remain current on technology solutions.
- Ability to lift, push, carry up to 40 lbs and climb ladders up to 10 feet tall.
- Ability to work long hours on your feet and a varied schedule, including weekends. Travel up to 10%.
- Ability to multi-task effectively without compromising quality of work.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

- Ability to draw conclusions and make independent decisions with limited information.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries from stakeholders, vendors, facilities, etc.
- Candidates must be self-motivated, resourceful, and a problem solver.
- Experience using CAD and/or Visio to create AV system design diagrams.
- Crestron, Biamp, Click Share, or similar programming/install experience.
- Info Comm CTS-I certification preferred.
- Ability to program/configure A/V hardware when needed.
- Cisco CCNA Collaboration Certification.
