Akkodis is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer for one of our clients in Richardson, Texas.

Rate Range: $70.00/hour to $75.00/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

The Infrastructure Engineer to support a mission-critical semiconductor manufacturing site in Richardson, TX. This role will be responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting both IT and OT (Operational Technology) infrastructure and applications that enable advanced manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate must have hands-on Kubernetes experience and a strong background supporting enterprise server environments, virtualization platforms, and Windows/Linux systems. You will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and corporate IT teams to deploy and maintain modern infrastructure, including containerized applications, automation platforms, AI-driven manufacturing technologies, and operational systems.

This role is on-site in Richardson, Texas.

This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies:
1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or
2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.

Please note we are not able to work on C2C basis for this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and maintain mission-critical on-premises server infrastructure (physical and virtual).
  • Administer and troubleshoot Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
  • Deploy, manage, and support Kubernetes and Docker-based application environments.
  • Manage VMware technologies, including vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and VCF.
  • Support hyper-converged infrastructure platforms such as Dell VxRail.
  • Monitor and resolve infrastructure, performance, and availability issues.
  • Assist with server modernization initiatives, including migrations from physical to virtual environments.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing equipment vendors and internal teams to optimize system reliability and performance.
  • Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and operational support activities.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate cybersecurity and infrastructure standards.
  • Document system configurations, automation processes, and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise server infrastructure.
  • 5+ years of experience with Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • 3+ years of experience with VMware technologies, including vSphere, vSAN, NSX, or VCF.
  • 3+ years of experience using Service Now or a similar IT Service Management platform.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (required) and Docker container platforms.
  • Experience with automation, scripting, or Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Power Shell, Chef, Tanium, JSON, Ruby, or similar technologies.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routing, switching, NAT, and firewall concepts.
  • Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
  • Strong documentation and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • Experience with Windows patching tools and operating system hardening.
  • Experience supporting the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus and Catalyst networking technologies.
  • Experience with enterprise backup and recovery solutions such as Rubrik.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, OT, MES, SCADA, or industrial control environments.
  • Understanding of industrial networking, equipment integration, automation systems, and manufacturing operations.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Self-motivated professional who can work independently in a fast-paced environment.
