The Information Technology Hardware Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Richardson, TX. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware, peripherals, and networking equipment across client and internal environments. The technician will diagnose and resolve hardware issues, perform routine maintenance, and ensure minimal downtime for users. Daily activities include providing in-person technical support, documenting incidents and resolutions, and coordinating with other IT team members to implement hardware upgrades or replacements.
The role also involves assisting with inventory management of equipment and supporting end users through clear, professional communication.

- Additional beneficial qualifications include familiarity with Windows and macOS environments, basic networking knowledge, and experience with hardware inventory management.
- A relevant certification (such as CompTIA A+) or equivalent practical experience, along with the ability to lift and move computer equipment safely, is preferred.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop hardware, printers, and other peripherals.
- Diagnose and repair hardware issues, including component replacements and upgrades.
- Set up workstations, including imaging, software installations, and network connectivity.
- Assist with hardware inventory management, including tracking, labeling, and lifecycle planning.
- Support network hardware (switches, access points, routers) as directed by senior IT staff.
- Provide on-site and remote hardware support for employees and clients.
- Coordinate hardware returns, warranty claims, and vendor repairs.
- Document all work performed in the IT ticketing system.
- Collaborate with other IT staff on deployments, office moves, and infrastructure upgrades.
- 2+ years of hands‑on IT hardware experience (desktop/laptop repair, upgrades, installations).
- Knowledge of Windows and/or macOS device setup and configuration.
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts (IP addressing, cabling, Wi‑Fi setup).
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs).
