Buyer
The Buyer coordinates the sourcing and follow-through of materials and external services using demand-driven planning methods and inventory control frameworks. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams and also works independently to support operational initiatives, improve workflow efficiency, and ensure that material availability, quality, and cost align with internal goals and customer expectations.
Responsibilities- Support operational performance by coordinating with leadership and cross-functional partners to balance quality, delivery timelines, and overall cost efficiency.
- Manage sourcing activities to ensure materials and services are secured within required time frames, meet cost targets, and are obtained from qualified suppliers.
- Proactively monitor order progress, identify potential delays, and take corrective actions to maintain continuity of operations.
- Develop cost estimates and lead time projections based on provided specifications, including pricing, order quantities, and delivery requirements.
- Acquire routine materials as well as large-scale assets necessary to support both day-to-day operations and long-term business needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records to support compliance with internal standards and quality expectations.
- Handle nonconforming or surplus materials through appropriate resolution processes, ensuring accurate financial tracking and reporting.
- Provide visibility into actual versus expected costs and contribute to financial accountability across projects and initiatives.
- Identify process gaps and operational inefficiencies, and drive corrective actions to improve purchasing and supply chain outcomes.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, using structured problem-solving and lean concepts to enhance workflows.
- Deliver assigned initiatives using effective planning, communication, and follow-through to ensure alignment with broader team objectives.
- Support additional operational priorities as needed to enhance overall team effectiveness and business performance.
- Minimum of 1 year of purchasing experience, preferably within an electronics environment.
- Hands-on experience with purchasing and procurement processes, including creation and management of purchase orders.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems to support purchasing and supply chain activities.
- Experience with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and supply chain planning methods.
- Ability to coordinate purchasing activities to meet quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to track orders, documentation, and inventory-related data accurately.
- Solid analytical skills to develop cost estimates, lead time projections, and cost comparisons.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with leadership, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
- Associate degree required in a relevant field.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred in supply chain, business, operations, or a related discipline.
- Experience working with Macola ERP software.
- Background in electronics purchasing or electronics manufacturing environments.
- Experience with MRP, JIT (Just-in-Time), and Kanban inventory management methods.
- Ability to participate in and support project improvements under Six Sigma and lean manufacturing concepts.
- Familiarity with structured problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong alignment with broader team goals.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in a corporate office setting. The Buyer works in a professional environment that relies on ERP and related business systems to manage purchasing, inventory, and supply chain activities. The position requires regular collaboration with cross-functional teams and suppliers during standard business hours, with a focus on responsiveness, accuracy, and continuous improvement in a structured office atmosphere.
JobType & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richardson, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.
