Position OverviewAs the Director, Corporate EHS, you will lead Lennox’s global safety, ergonomics, environmental, sustainability, remediation and compliance programs. The role reports to the EVP, Chief Human Resources Officer and interacts directly with the Board of Directors, CEO, executive team and operations leaders. The Director will manage a team of 8 EHS professionals, oversee external consultants, and coordinate EHS initiatives across all Lennox operations.
Key Responsibilities- Promote a shared vision for EHS Excellence.
- Direct, manage and inspire a team of EHS leads and external consultants.
- Develop, support, lead and execute strategies to reduce:
- Workplace safety and ergonomic injury risks.
- Environmental emissions and impacts.
- Implement plans to achieve environmental sustainability goals for energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, solid waste, recyclables and water stewardship.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with business unit operations to ensure program success.
- Develop and execute an overall program management and change‑management strategy.
- Centralize disparate fields of data to streamline EHS reporting.
- Oversee administration of facility audits and compliance with audit findings.
- Continuously improve the company’s EHS compliance strategies and management systems.
- Monitor safety and environmental regulatory changes that could affect operations and implement mitigation strategies.
- Maintain and improve EHS policies, guidelines and operational procedures.
- Teach and mentor other EHS professionals.
- Recognize performance contributions and celebrate accomplishments.
- Ensure compliance with domestic and international EHS legislation.
- Manage remediation sites, including strategy, budget and assessments.
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience, with at least five years developing and executing corporate‑wide EHS programs.
- Demonstrated career progression to a corporate function leadership role.
- Manufacturing industry knowledge and experience.
- Proven track record managing a team.
- Excellent communication, analytical, project‑management, presentation and influencing skills.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable U.S. federal and state EHS regulations.
- Working knowledge of Mexican and Canadian environmental regulatory programs (preferred).
- Experience with consultants and financial reserves for legacy soil and groundwater remediation.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
