The EMS Supervisor will work as a HVAC /Mechanical Supervisor overseeing the daily operations of the energy management and HVAC /mechanical efforts on campus. Supervises HVAC /mechanical staff; initiates work procedures; inspects maintenance performed by outside contractors and technicians; initiates requisitions for supplies and equipment; coordinates utilities operations with the Central Energy Plant Superintendent; continuously reviews all systems to improve efficiency for energy conservation;
and inspects mechanical systems under construction and oversees system start‑up and commissioning. Handle all personnel issues related to the shop. Review maintenance contracts and track warranty items/buildings for new contracts.
High school diploma or equivalent; 5 years experience in the operation and maintenance of steam generating, power generating, refrigeration, and/or data acquisition equipment, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity. Must have and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Other QualificationsTo the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Supervise the installation, operation and maintenance of utility equipment.
- Assign and create work orders for HVAC /mechanical staff using work management system.
- Monitor campus building automation systems.
- Coordinate and inspect work performed by contractors and HVAC /mechanical technicians.
- Attend meetings, review mechanical blueprints, renew annual contracts, and track warranty parts.
- Estimation and bidding of projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License and an acceptable driver rating as established in Policy: UTS
157 Section 2.5.4.
