SummaryThe Manager, Supply Chain Warehouse supports the development of the logistics/warehouse vision for one or more customers or departments. Supports continuous improvement activities in the warehouse/logistics process, tools and application support of the plan. Develops subject matter expertise of warehouse processes, tools and application. Responsible for the coaching and mentoring of others. Oversees and controls all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, efficient inventory management, inventory accuracy, material flow and maintaining a safe and organized working environment.
The Manager, Supply Chain Warehouse must manage resources effectively to help execute the strategy deployment plans.
- Maintains responsibility for the management of site warehouse/logistics including meeting customer commits, engagement in negotiations and agreement with suppliers, meeting quality and delivery requirements.
- Manages the warehouse and material handling for all site business units, 24x7, while maintaining appropriate level of security. Includes receiving, count stations, AWS workstations and control room, AWS maintenance, and third-party warehousing.
- Responsible for the import warehouse/logistics system team including carrier contract negotiation engagement with Global team and import customs clearance.
- Manages relationships with external carriers, customs brokers and third-party warehouses including quality, rate negotiation, performance and alternative providers.
- Ensures compliance on all customs regulations and laws.
- Assists with global issues related to trade compliance warehouse/logistics. Works with other sites to identify and implement cost saving measures.
- Manages case, pack, shipping operations and the HUB export process ensuring export customs compliance to all applicable regulations and laws.
- Engages in warehouse/logistics/trade compliance tools needed by the site for analytical, cost calculations and compliance.
- Provide guidance and direction to business units to achieve site warehouse/logistics financial results.
- Responsible for annual physical inventory (if owns warehouse).
- Responsible for employee training, performance, measurement, development, motivation and recognition.
- Drives continuous improvements of SCM function through interactions with other departments.
- Drives and schedules annual lift equipment safety assessment.
- Drives the warehouse safety inspections - monthly.
- Leading the Dock PM activities (levelers, bumpers, doors, crash carts, etc.).
- Monitors and understands routing guides for both customers and Celestica.
- Participates in development/changes to routing guide.
- Manages the supervisor who directly reports into you.
- Monitors 3rd Party warehouse.
- Completes CAPEX reports for equipment purchases.
- Monitors Cycle Counts and Accuracy.
- Complete the Dangerous Goods training.
- Understanding of requirements for Class 3 equipment.
- Understanding of requirements for warehousing racking.
- Responsible for the billing and custom process.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of global and local transportation services.
- Strong knowledge of the global business environment and customers' business.
- Good understanding of IT concepts and integrated business applications.
- Strong knowledge in all areas of import / export, regulatory and warehouse/logistics management.
- Good negotiation and problem resolution skills.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
- Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of employees.
- Strong warehouse/logistics financial reporting ability and budgetary development.
- Working knowledge (if pertinent) to Free Trade Agreements, HS Tariff, Duty/VAT, ITAR regulations, sanctions and embargoes.
- Duties of this position require continuous light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motion, standing, sitting in a confined work space.
- Occasional overnight travel is required.
- 7 years + in a related warehouse/logistics or trade compliance field or operation setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics Management, or related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
