Senior Manager, Contracts – Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS)

OverviewThe role involves developing contract strategy and executing within the Space, Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (SISR) Sub‑strategic Business Unit. The Senior Manager will manage contract administration actions on proposals and contracts across the acquisition lifecycle for U.S. Government Defense and Intelligence contracts, while also developing and managing new commercial business.
Responsibilities- Support program execution, lead key pursuits, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide contractual guidance, develop IP strategies, and innovative contracting approaches.
- Participate in the development and growth of commercial opportunities, products and contracts.
- Manage the development of commercial and government type proposals, negotiations, and contract execution.
- Provide guidance to senior management regarding contractual and business issues, rights, obligations, and risk mitigation.
- Manage contractual scope, terms and conditions to ensure work performed per contract scope.
- Develop positive customer relationships and resolve contractual matters, leveraging relationships with Program Managers, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, and other functions.
- Effectively communicate with senior leadership regarding strategic matters.
- University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree and minimum 7 years experience.
- Experience with U.S. Government and/or Defense related contract management/administration.
- Experience with contracts under FAR/DFARS clauses or other customer supplementals.
- Experience with U.S. Government acquisitions and/or proposals, including sole‑source and competitive proposal activity.
- Confident, self‑starter with positive energy in a dynamic collaborative environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with internal & external stakeholders, customers and leadership teams.
- Critical thinker with strong risk assessment skills, ability to deliver timely solutions, measure success, and adjust strategies.
- Passion for engaging new and innovative business opportunities and ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize.
- Prior experience with commercial contracts, special commercial terms & conditions, and management of intellectual property rights.
- Salary range: $132,400 – $251,600 USD.
