Job Summary

The Director of Industry Projects plays a pivotal leadership role in advancing the mission of UTDSolv at the UT Dallas Jindal School of Management by developing, managing, and scaling a dynamic portfolio of industry-sponsored projects that deliver meaningful, high-impact experiential learning opportunities for students. This role serves as the primary liaison between UTDSolv and industry organizations to identify, scope, and secure applied projects that align with academic objectives and workforce needs.

The Director oversees the full project lifecycle-from project sourcing and scoping through execution, assessment, and reporting-while ensuring positive outcomes for students, faculty, and industry partners. This position is responsible for maintaining a robust project pipeline, managing project quality, monitoring student performance, and measuring the impact of UTDSolv initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Industry Project Development, Portfolio, and Lifecycle Management

* Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of industry-sponsored projects that support experiential learning across UT Dallas.

* Identify, cultivate, and secure projects from corporations, startups, nonprofit organizations, and community partners. Manage a portfolio of at least 50 unique industry-sponsored projects per semester.

* Serve as the primary liaison between UTDsolv and external stakeholders, representing the program at networking events, conferences, corporate meetings, and community engagements.

* Collaborate with academic units and university leadership to expand interdisciplinary project opportunities.

* Work directly with organizations to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and expected outcomes.

* Monitor project progress, manage risks, and ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and meet stakeholder expectations.

* Coordinate with faculty, students, and industry sponsors to support successful project execution and delivery.

* Support the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and ongoing engagement of faculty and industry professionals participating in the UTDsolv Capstone course. May also teach one or more sections of the UTDsolve Capstone course as needed.

* Oversee the scheduling and staffing of the courses, ensuring adequate course offerings to support enrollment demand and adequate faculty resources.

* Evaluate project outcomes and stakeholder feedback to drive continuous improvement and maximize program impact.

* Foster an environment that promotes professional development, teamwork, problem-solving, and client engagement.

Assessment and Outcomes Measurement

* Develop and implement metrics to evaluate project success, student learning outcomes, and industry impact.

* Measure and assess project outcomes against established goals and performance indicators.

* Collect and analyze feedback from students, faculty, and industry sponsors.

* Prepare reports and dashboards that communicate project performance, student impact, and program effectiveness.

* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and program enhancement.
