Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience developing and optimizing PCB manufacturing processes (SMT, PTH, assembly, or test) in a high-volume production environment
- Strong background using DOE, statistical analysis, and process capability (Cp/Cpk) to improve yield, throughput, and quality
- Proven ability to lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex production issues across multi-step PCB manufacturing processes
- Experience evaluating and improving equipment performance, line balancing, and production flow
- Ability to partner with design teams on DFM/DFT for PCB assemblies
- Experience working with SMT lines, reflow ovens, AOI, SPI, ICT, or functional test systems
- Exposure to automation, tooling, or software integration within electronics manufacturing environments
- Background in high-mix, low-volume OR high-volume electronics manufacturing services (EMS) environments
- Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, yield improvement, scrap reduction)
- Familiarity with PCBA industry standards and quality requirements (IPC standards, etc.)
- This individual will support and lead process engineering efforts across PCB assembly and manufacturing lines, with a focus on SMT, through-hole, and test processes. On a daily basis, they will analyze line performance, yield data, and equipment capability to identify improvement opportunities using statistical methods and Design of Experiments. They will troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues impacting quality and throughput, working closely with operators, technicians, and cross-functional teams.
The role also partners with product and design engineering to ensure PCB designs are optimized for manufacturability and testability, while supporting new product introductions and production ramp. Additionally, they will evaluate tooling, equipment, and automation opportunities to drive efficiency, reduce cost, and improve overall process stability in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment.
This team is open to 6 month contract to hire or direct hire/FTE
Hourly: 32/hr - 48/hr, $65K to $95K per year annual salary based on experience
