Incumbents apply in-depth knowledge in a specific area of sustainability. Work is guided by general procedures and professional standards. Works on assignments of basic to medium scope and complexity, where analysis requires a review of identifiable factors and a considerable degree of judgment. Works under minimum Supervision but seeks approval from others on matters outside of job/role scope. Unusual problems are solved jointly with manager.
Work may be reviewed for application of sound judgment. May lead a work group or project team consisting of technical and support staff. Builds internal and external relationships, with emphasis on those that facilitate the achievement of job/role accountabilities, such as relationships with customers and internal teams.
Provides support to the Sustainability Manager on the following key initiatives:
- Working with multiple areas within Celesticas organization to develop and monitor that appropriate goals are in place within Celestica and its global facilities
- Analyze the sustainability practices of our organization and provide input to the development and obtaining targets for our long-term goals
- Assist in the development of Science Based Targets
- Work with internal sustainability representatives and external agencies
- Managing and administration of Celesticas Carbon Accounting Management system (Envizi)
- Emissions Data Verification (ISO
14064) - Emission Factor Maintenance
- Work with NGOs/Academia/Industry consortia on various initiatives (eg. Circular Economy Lab)
- Participate in projects related to Energy and Emissions
- Emissions reduction reporting
- Collect/maintain data from sites
- Host bi-monthly calls with Celesticas Global Energy Working Group
- Work with Communications to publish CELNEWS related to sustainability
- Project management of Celesticas annual sustainability report
- Knowledge of ISO and environmental management as it relates to greenhouse gas emissions
- Excellent skills in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work with a diverse set of partners, stakeholders, technologists, across the globe
- Work in situations with modest ambiguity, bring passion to create solutions to problems or issues that arise.
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers. Excellent attention to detail.
- Day to day management of the Sustainable Workspace Program
- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
- Overnight travel may occasionally be required
- Minimum of four to six years of applicable experience
- Preference to candidates with environmental management experience
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
