Overview

Continental Electronics Corporation is a leading provider of RF technologies and innovative solutions. The company has 80 years of proven performance and serves commercial products, military customers, and space research laboratories.

The Raw Material Handler is responsible for receiving, identifying, moving, storing, and preparing raw materials for production. This role also operates industrial saw equipment to cut material to required dimensions while maintaining quality and safety. The role collaborates with Purchasing and Production Teams to support material availability, communicate inventory needs, and provide updates on material status to maintain production schedules.

Must be willing to work in both Dallas and Richardson depending on assignments. Eventually, operations will be in Richardson at 1401 E Lookout Drive.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, label, and stage raw materials for manufacturing operations
  • Operate band saws or other cutting equipment to cut raw material to specifications and work orders
  • Read and interpret work orders, drawings, cut lists, and material specifications
  • Measure and verify dimensions using tape measures, calipers, and other measuring tools
  • Load and unload material using forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to communicate raw material requirements, reorder needs, shortages, and expected consumption
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and document material usage and movement
  • Ensure material traceability and proper identification throughout processing
  • Perform routine saw setup, blade changes, and basic preventative maintenance
  • Inspect cut materials for quality, dimensional accuracy, and defects
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S and safety standards
  • Communicate material shortages, quality concerns, or equipment issues to supervision
  • Support teams within manufacturing as needed to meet operational goals

  • Report to management any quality problems or defects for corrective action to avoid recurrence
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet business needs
Qualifications
  • At least 4 years of machine shop or sheet metal experience with knowledge of common raw material types, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent verbal communication and people skills
  • Basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division); ability to use a calculator
  • Microsoft Office and computer skills; inventory software experience is a plus
  • Forklift experience required; certification is a plus but in-house forklift certification will be provided
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening and weekend shifts

  • High School Diploma or GED
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move 30–60 pounds occasionally, 20–30 pounds frequently, or more than negligible up to 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects
  • Frequently required to stand and walk

Benefits and Additional Information

Pay may range from $24.00 to $27.00 hourly. The pay range represents base salary; final compensation is determined based on factors such as job level, location, experience, knowledge, and market considerations. Base salary is part of a total rewards package that may include long-term incentives, bonuses, stock purchase opportunities, and comprehensive benefits (health plans, 401(k), health savings account, disability, life and AD&D insurance, leave programs, and other voluntary benefits).

Full-time salaried employees are entitled to paid time off for vacation, holidays, bereavement, and jury duty.
