Jabil is seeking experienced Machine Operators to work in our Richardson, TX site.
The schedule for these positions are follows:- 1st shift is Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm
- 2nd shift is Monday-Friday 3pm-11:30pm
- 3rd shift is Monday-Friday 11pm-7:30am
As a Machine Operator with Jabil, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of automated manufacturing equipment, specifically focusing on automatic wave solder machines and SMT (Surface Mount Technology) assembly lines. You will also ensure high-quality soldering of multiple connections on printed circuit boards (PCBs) while maintaining efficiency and adherence to technical specifications.
What will you do?- Equipment Operation & Setup: Perform routine equipment setup, operation, and adjustment for automated manufacturing machinery. Coordinate with team members to configure machines according to technical setup sheets.
- Wave Solder Specialization: Operate and maintain foam fluxers; utilize hydrometers to ensure specific gravity and resin ratios are within tolerance. Add bar solder, flux, and alcohol as required.
- Maintenance & Calibration: Dross the solder pot to remove impurities and perform daily required maintenance. Clean and adjust the flux density controller (FDC). Perform weekly deep cleaning and flux drainage.
- Material Management: Ensure board loaders and feeders are continuously stocked with correct components. Prepare for upcoming runs by pre-loading feeders to minimize downtime. Maintain accurate inventory logs of chemical and solder usage.
- Quality Control: Monitor boards for soldering defects and ensure proper component seating. Operate LSM machines to verify solder paste volume and enter performance data into the CIQ system. Perform basic quality auditing, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Process Documentation: Maintain all necessary production documentation, logs, and maintenance records. Follow work directions communicated via visual aids and setup sheets.
- Safety & Organization: Maintain a clean, orderly, and organized work area (5S). Tube fallout parts and monitor machine rejects to ensure parts are sorted daily.
- Compliance: Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental rules. Strictly comply with all company security policies and procedures.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one year of related experience in automated manufacturing or wave solder operations OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required job-related certifications (e.g., IPC (printed circuit boards) standards).
- Proficiency in Automated Optical Inspection or X-Ray machines, reading setup sheets, basic computer data entry, and the use of measurement tools (hydrometers, micrometers, calipers, and others).
