SMT Technician

Volt is immediately hiring Direct Hire (Days and Nights Open) SMT Technicians in Richardson, Texas.

SMT Technician is responsible for:

• Set up, program, and operate SMT equipment (printer, SPI, Pick and place, reflow, AOI)
• Verify and optimize machine setups for production and NPI builds
• Monitor yield, SPC trends, and in-process quality (FPV/IPI)
• Troubleshoot process and equipment issues; perform root cause analysis
• Maintain and calibrate SMT equipment; support preventive maintenance
• Develop reflow profiles and maintain process parameters
• Perform inspection of solder joints and assembly quality (IPC compliance)
• Collect and analyze process data; update documentation and work instructions
• Support line efficiency, cycle time reduction, and continuous improvement
• Train and support operators; provide real-time production floor support
• Collaborate with engineering on product dispositions and process changes

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required, Associate degree (or equivalent experience) in Electronics, Manufacturing, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of SMT / electronics manufacturing experience
• Hands-on experience with SMT equipment (printer, PnP, reflow, AOI)
• Knowledge of SMT processes: solder paste printing, placement, reflow, inspection
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with operations team
• Experience working in PCB assembly and /or semiconductor manufacturing facility is preferred
• Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001 preferred)
• This factory position requires wearing cleanroom attire and protective equipment;
  Bending, twisting, lifting up to 25 pounds, and standing for extended periods of time will be required

Shift: Multiple Available both Days and Nights

Salary: 80K-DOE

Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
