Position Summary

Develops, implements, evaluates and revises a plan of care for assigned patients and families while promoting the mission and values of CORALVITA Healthcare. The provision of care includes direct care along with delegation and supervision of all nursing care in accordance with the applicable Nurse Practice Act. Works in a charge nurse capacity as assigned based on patient and hospital need.

Responsibilities include demonstrating clinical competence; managing patient care; improving quality of care; establishing professional relationships and utilizing professional skills; fulfilling the role’s responsibilities; and developing clinical expertise per specialty.

Position Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, Nursing Aides and Techs.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment required.
  • Current BLS certification from a CORALVITA-approved vendor required.
  • ACLS certification from a CORALVITA-approved vendor required within six (6) months of hire.
  • Previous acute care experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
  • Freedom from illegal use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
Language and Mathematical Skills

English is the primary language. Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly with co‑workers and patients. Mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and/or diagram form. Ability to define and solve problems and collect data.

  • Participate in staff and facility team meetings (25%).
  • Develop, document, and implement individualized care plans (25%).
  • Apply effective medication administration elements (20%).
  • Ensure completion of medical treatment regimens, order supplies, transcribe orders, share results (10%).
  • Perform and document wound care, respiratory care where appropriate and observe skin integrity (10%).
  • Coordinate nursing care through assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation during charge shifts (5%).
  • Remain current with relevant literature and maintain updated methodology, tools, manuals, criteria (5%).
