The Registered Nurse is responsible for conducting donor screening activities and evaluating donor eligibility through comprehensive assessments, specimen collection, education, and documentation. The position requires adherence to all applicable regulatory requirements, including FDA guidance, industry standards, and Cryos quality systems.
- Conduct comprehensive interviews with prospective donors to determine eligibility for participation in the donor program.
- Perform complete nursing assessments and physical examinations as part of the screening process.
- Collect, label, process, and manage blood and urine specimens in accordance with established protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Educate donors regarding program requirements, procedures, expectations, and follow-up obligations.
- Review and discuss laboratory findings with donors, including infectious disease and genetic screening results.
- Obtain and verify detailed medical, social, and family histories to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely documentation in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
- Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), FDA regulations.
- Receive specialized training related to FDA Guidance for Industry governing human cell and tissue donation.
- Collaborate closely with the Chief Medical Officer, Nurse Manager, Tissue Bank Director, and Genetics team regarding hereditary risk assessments, donor eligibility determinations and infectious disease findings.
- Develop and maintain positive donor relationships to support compliance with screening, testing, and follow-up activities.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the continued enhancement of operational processes.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate sensitive and confidential health information professionally and compassionately.
- Comfort discussing infectious disease testing and genetic screening results with donors.
- Ability to perform routine head-to-toe physical assessments.

- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of donor care, regulatory compliance, and professional conduct.
