Work Type: 100% Onsite
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Assignment Duration: 6-month contract (possible temp-to-hire)
Pay Rate: $33 - $36/hr
OverviewMotorola Solutions is seeking a Quality Engineer II to support supplier and manufacturing quality initiatives for video products. This role focuses on supplier quality management, corrective actions, and continuous improvement using Motorola’s Corrective Action Request System (MCAR) based on the 8D methodology. The role is onsite and works closely with suppliers, manufacturing sites, and distribution centers.
Key Responsibilities- Identify supplier quality issues and lead corrective actions using MCAR (8D methodology).
- Serve as liaison between suppliers, distribution centers, and Motorola manufacturing sites.
- Monitor supplier performance for quality and delivery compliance.
- Support product transitions and drive quality and process improvements.
- Participate in quality, regulatory, and supplier audits.
- Maintain supplier quality ranking systems and quality documentation.
- Analyze and prioritize customer complaints and critical quality cases.
- Support quality improvement projects at internal and external sites.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or science-related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in supplier or supply chain quality roles.
- Strong understanding of quality standards and continuous improvement methods.
- Experience with quality tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, and Histogram analysis.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Experience working in cross-functional and cross-cultural environments.
- Lean or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt strongly preferred).
- Experience supporting manufacturing and distribution center operations.

- Up to 10% travel.
- Possible travel to Mexico (1–2 trips per year, approximately one week per trip) to support a Video EMS site as backup coverage.
- All travel, lodging, and transportation arranged and paid for by Motorola Solutions.
- Breakfast and lunch provided; dinner reimbursed via expense submission.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with a valid passport.
