Jabil is seeking an experienced Quality Engineering Technician to work in our Richardson, TX plant.
We have needs for candidates for both 2nd and 3rd shifts! The hours for 2nd and 3rd shifts are as follows:
- 2nd shift is Monday‑Friday 3 pm‑11:30 pm
- 3rd shift is Monday‑Friday 11:30 pm‑8 am
As a Quality Technician with Jabil, you will ensure products and processes meet established quality standards through inspection, testing, and documentation, supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
What will you do?- Perform incoming, in‑process, and final inspections of components, sub‑assemblies, and finished products according to specifications and control plans.
- Conduct various quality tests using precision measuring instruments and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM, optical comparators).
- Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, including non‑conformances and corrective actions.
- Identify, quarantine, and document non‑conforming materials; initiate and track disposition activities.
- Assist in root cause analysis for quality issues and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Participate in internal audits and support external audits as required.
- Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to calibration schedules.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality‑related issues and improve product quality.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of quality procedures, work instructions, and forms.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects within the quality department.
- Other duties as they may be assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent;
Associate's degree in a technical field preferred. - A minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Experience with various precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators).
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality tools (e.g., 8D, FMEA, SPC).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
