The EHS Technician will help maintain and continually improve the environmental, health and safety programs position will be responsible for the fulfilment of routine compliance activities of the EHS Department, working with the site EHS Manager and EHS Engineers to ensure consistent adherence with local, state, and federal regulations. This position will act on corrections to deficiencies, and elimination of identified hazards.
The EHS Technician role will also assist in implementing new safety initiatives, conducting regular audits, assistance with emergency response activities, and the overall improvement of environmental health and safety programs and processes.
This is an onsite role where the expectation is to be in our Richardson TX office five days a week.
Responsibilities- Conduct facility inspections to identify hazards or gaps in compliance. Examples of inspections include:
Emergency Response Supplies, Hazardous and Universal Waste, Facility 6S Inspections, Egress Paths - Coordinate and manage vendors on the annual inspections for Fire Extinguishers and Cranes & Hoists.
- Coordinate ERT training which includes AED/CPR/First Aid, SCBA and Fire Extinguisher.
- Post and/or update site EHS signage as needed, including Confined Space and Haz Com labels.
- Assist with EHS audits and regulatory inspections to document compliance status.
- Identify and act on improvement opportunities to reduce site risks and enhance the safety culture.
- Build knowledge of EHS regulations and apply them in daily operations.
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of related work experience in an Environmental, Health and Safety role.
- Working knowledge of Federal and Texas regulations relative to environmental, health & safety.
- Ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in MS Office products. (Power Point, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks to effectively meet deadlines.
- Ability to adjust to rapid and frequent changes.
- Associate degree or similar education in Occupational Safety (or related field)
- Experience in a fast-paced, high volume industrial/semiconductor manufacturing environment.
- General Industry OSHA 10-hour certification, or other Safety relevant certification.
- Current RCRA/DOT certification
- General understanding of EHS principles, including root cause and job hazard analysis.
