Research Assistant/Associate, Biomedical Science, Research Scientist
We are recruiting a research assistant to support the Jiang Lab in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Texas research in the Jiang Lab focuses on the design of novel macromolecules (such as proteins/antibodies) to explore their biomedical applications.
Minimum Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in one of the basic sciences or an equivalent combination of education and experience in customer service or in daily interactions in a public services environment.
PreferredEducation and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree with three or more years of research experience
- A background in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, biochemical or cell-based assay development, or bioengineering.
To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Addresses fundamental questions relevant to Jiang Lab’s ongoing projects, including but not limited to, assistance in performing studies with postdoctoral research associates, graduate students, and undergraduate researchers in the Jiang Lab.
- Lab management‐related duties, including but not limited to, lab supply management, lab safety compliance, facility inspections, lab database construction and maintenance, and lab protocol submission.
- Other duties as assigned.
