Research Assistant/Associate, Clinical Research, Research Scientist
The University of Texas at Dallas is seeking a Research Assistant I to join the lab of Dr. Camilo Ruggero, whose research focuses on the assessment and modeling of psychopathology and efforts to address behavioral health disparities. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands‑on research experience in clinical psychology, psychopathology, and public health

This position is grant‑funded. Continued employment is contingent upon the availability of funds.
Minimum Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in one of the basic sciences or an equivalent combination of education and experience in customer service or in daily interactions in a public services environment.
PreferredEducation and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a Social Sciences field
- Experience in a research or human services setting
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Experience using Qualtrics, Microsoft Excel, and SPSS
- Prior involvement in research studies and/or human services work
- Demonstrated interest in pursuing graduate training in clinical psychology or a related field
To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assisting with protocol development
- Coordinating recruitment sites
- Scheduling participants, coordinating protocol implementation among student RAs and assisting with data collection
- Assisting with website development and maintenance
- Assisting with administrative duties related to lab projects
- Conducting literature reviews and contributing to scholarly presentations and publications
- Other duties as assigned
- Knowledge of scientific research techniques, methods and procedures
- Working knowledge of equipment used in related fields of research
- Considerable knowledge of health, safety, and security precautions in keeping with type of research being done
- Ability to set up and operate research instrumentation and equipment
- Ability to make accurate assays and to prepare reports, charts, or graphs on results
- Ability to work effectively with fellow researchers, staff members, faculty, supervisors and students
Travel: This position may be subject to occasional travel for conferences and/or research and training needs.
Work Notice: Work will be performed on-site and in person.
