Security Guard, Administrative Management
Reporting to the Parking & Transportation Manager, this position assists in the daily operation of the Parking Office at Parking Structure 3 by completing supporting functions assigned by the Parking & Transportation Manager.
Minimum Education and ExperienceHigh school or GED and at least 6 months of customer service experience with the ability to handle conflict with customers.

- College degree is preferred but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office skills.
- Knowledge of the local area and the UT Dallas campus.
Applicants must be able to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assist in daily operation of the Parking Office at Parking Structure 3.
- Identify and review parking accounts of vehicles subject to vehicle immobilization per UT Dallas Parking & Transportation policy.
- Authorize and install vehicle immobilization devices.
- Patrol assigned areas by vehicle or on foot to enforce parking rules.
- Write parking citations for illegally parked vehicles.
- Maintain communication via two‑way radios or cell phones.
- Oversee parking enforcement officers during shift hours.
- Prepare reports documenting citation records and activities.
- Monitor and report suspicious persons, safety hazards, and illegal activity.
- Report hazardous conditions such as missing traffic signals or street markings.
- Assist with clerical and customer service duties.
- Occasionally take minutes during staff meetings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Shift is a total of nine hours with a one‑hour lunch. Hours vary between 8:00 am and 11:00 pm, scheduled 3–6 months in advance. The noise level ranges from moderate to very loud. The incumbent must lift 50 lbs., bend, stretch, stand for extended periods, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to define goals, meet urgent deadlines, and prioritize projects.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel experience.
- Weekend work may be required occasionally.
