Shopify Inventory & Product Operations Specialist

Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-obsessed Shopify Inventory & Product Operations Specialist to own and manage all product and inventory operations across our eCommerce business.

This role requires someone who naturally thinks in a black-and-white, accuracy-first manner and takes pride in getting every detail right. Success in this position depends on exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to execute quickly without sacrificing accuracy. Small mistakes can create major customer experience, inventory, and revenue issues, so precision is non-negotiable.

This is a fast-paced retail environment where priorities shift quickly. The ideal candidate is highly responsive, thrives under deadlines, adapts to changing priorities, and understands the urgency required to support product launches, inventory updates, pricing changes, promotions, and merchandising initiatives in real time.

We are not looking for someone who is comfortable with "close enough." We need someone who naturally catches details others miss, follows processes carefully, takes ownership, and can execute urgent changes quickly and accurately.

Ownership & Accountability

This role serves as the primary owner of all inventory and product management functions across the business. The Shopify Inventory & Product Operations Specialist is fully responsible for ensuring product data, inventory levels, pricing, merchandising, imagery, and product organization are accurate, up-to-date, and maintained across all customer-facing channels.

This is not a support role. We are looking for someone who takes complete ownership of the product catalog and inventory ecosystem, proactively identifying issues, preventing errors, and ensuring every product is represented accurately at all times.

The person in this role will be accountable for:

All product creation, setup, and maintenance in Shopify.

Inventory accuracy across Shopify, the mobile app, and all sales channels.

Product pricing, promotions, markdowns, and updates.

Product tags, collections, categorization, and merchandising assignments.

Product imagery, photoshoot uploads, and asset organization.

Product page and collection page merchandising and layout management.

Restock processing and inventory adjustments.

Out-of-stock management and inventory troubleshooting.

Product launch execution and quality assurance.

Ongoing product catalog audits to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Success in this role requires someone who treats the product catalog and inventory as their responsibility from end to end. We need a highly accountable individual who takes pride in accuracy, moves with urgency when updates are needed, and understands that even small errors can directly impact sales, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
