HVAC Controls Installation Project Manager

Location: Richardson, TX

Pay Range: $90,000-$130,000/year (based on experience)

Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (with occasional overtime/site visits as needed)

As an HVAC Controls Installation Project Manager, you'll oversee commercial Building Automation System (BAS/BMS) projects from kickoff through completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage commercial HVAC controls installation projects from planning through project closeout
  • Coordinate project schedules, labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment deliveries
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, contractors, and internal project teams
  • Review project drawings, specifications, submittals, and schedul
  • Coordinate field installation teams, controls technicians, electricians, and programmers
  • Track project budgets, change orders, and job progress
  • Attend job site meetings and perform site visits to ensure quality and schedule compliance
  • Support project commissioning and final customer turnover

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience managing commercial HVAC controls, building automation, or mechanical/electrical construction projects
  • Strong understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS), DDC controls, and commercial HVAC systems
  • Experience coordinating field installation teams and subcontractors
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and construction documents
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience with project scheduling and budgeting
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Distech, ABB, or similar systems is a plus
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
