Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer – Richardson, Texas (Onsite)
Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is looking for an experienced Software QA Engineer to serve as the System/Software Quality/Process Assurance Lead on a multidisciplinary Product Development Team at our Renner Road facility.
Responsibilities- Serve as System/Software Quality/Process Assurance Lead on a multidisciplinary Product Development Team.
- Review Program Plans to ensure compliance with contractual, industry, and internal standards.
- Perform audits and reviews to ensure program plan compliance.
- Apply critical thinking to documentation reviews for compliance with regulatory, contractual, and industry standards.
- Participate in internal, customer, and government regulatory reviews as applicable.
- Engage in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations and process improvement activities.
- Identify corrective actions for non‑compliance and support implementation of improvement activities.
- Mentor and train junior Software Quality/Process Assurance engineers.
- Participate in product verification and validation activities.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in software quality assurance or an advanced degree plus minimum 5 years of experience.
- Active, transferable U.S. government‑issued TS/SCI security clearance required prior to start date; U.S. citizenship required.
- Experience developing complex systems and applications using Java, C/C++, Electron, React, or other object‑oriented programming languages.
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerization.
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles, especially in high‑concurrency and distributed systems.
- Experience with multithreading, memory management, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with network communication protocols, shell scripting (tcsh, csh, bash), version control (Git, Clear Case, SVN), and debugging tools.
- Experience with software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.) and tools like Git.
- Expertise with Software Development Lifecycle and Dev Sec Ops .
- Experience with testing frameworks and automation tools relevant to software engineering.
- Experience with Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Strong background in Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologies.
- Working knowledge of Engineering Configuration Management systems such as SVN or DOORS.
- Familiarity with Continuous Process Improvement frameworks (CORE, Six Sigma, Lean).
- Understanding of AS9100/AS9115 quality management system standards.
