Embedded Software Engineer V
Participate in the full software development life cycle for embedded software operating on unmanned robotic vehicles. Responsibilities include requirements development, design, implementation, testing, and production support. The role focuses on vehicle control systems, programmable actuators, and perception sensors.
Responsibilities- Develop features for embedded applications
- Diagnose and correct reported software defects
- Participate in systems engineering to ensure smooth software integration
- Support fielded systems
- Travel up to 15% as required
- Write maintainable C and C++ code
- Perform continuous refactoring and code improvements
- Follow a testing-first development mentality including unit, integration, and simulation testing
- Apply SOLID principles and design patterns
- Design reusable software components
- Utilize distributed version control systems
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Master's degree preferred
- 7+ years of professional experience designing and implementing embedded real-time software systems using C/C++
- Experience with large multithreaded embedded applications running on an RTOS
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Skills:
- Agile software development methodologies
- Embedded systems device driver development
- Experience with unmanned vehicle systems
- Flash programming tools
- Communication protocols including TCP, UDP, CAN, SPI, and RS232
- ROS/ROS2 experience
- Sensor interfacing including GPS, LIDAR, RADAR, and ultrasonic sensors
- Control systems experience
