Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Entry Level Software Engineer – Developer to join the Special Projects Dallas (SPD) P-8A Poseidon Maritime Patrol Aircraft Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS) team in Richardson, TX
.
The Boeing SPD AAS team provides the mission systems software that runs on the P-8A to provide the warfighter the ability to perform mission and tactic planning, interface with the sensor, display sensor data to the operator, and replay missions. The team also provides the capability to train fleet operators on the AAS mission by adding simulations to the baseline P-8 Training system.
In this role, you will execute the full lifecycle development, including software engineering life-cycle design, development, integration and maintenance support for the P-8A AAS Mission Systems contracts.
- Partners with hardware, software, and systems engineering to design, develop, troubleshoot, and test P-8A AAS Mission Systems and Training Systems software.
- Assists with the development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
- Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system.
- Assists with test procedures and documents test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required) – a clearance active in the past 24 months is considered active.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience in software development.
- Experience using Java.
- Bachelor of Science degree in an accredited engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science program, or Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of directly related work experience, or 8+ years of related relevant experience.
- Active U.S. Top Secret Clearance.
- Experience with development of C/C++ and/or Linux Operating Systems.
- Experience with development of OpenGL.
- Experience in Agile/Dev Ops methodologies.
- Experience in Real-Time Algorithm implementation.
- Experience in development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, interfaces and designs for software systems.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: USD $83,300 - $112,700.
