We’re hiring for a hybrid role. You’ll work on-site with your team several days each week (typically 2–3), with the specific days set by your manager. Because regular in-person collaboration is central to this job, we look for candidates who live within about 50 miles of the office. Everfox will consider reasonable accommodation as required by law.
About the roleWe have an immediate need for a Software Engineer to enhance capabilities of cyber products for security-conscious government & commercial customers. The position will be responsible for developing & testing new product capabilities, software development/build tools, software test infrastructure & operational support for cross-domain products. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, working in a cohesive team environment, willing to grow & learn using many software development & operational tools to test, debug & support software for secure Linux desktop environments, IT operations/enterprise management, IP networking/routing and remote/virtual desktop deployments.

Work Schedule:
Full Time, Monday - Friday (standard work schedule with flexibility for mission-critical requirements).
- Utilize your expertise in software development processes to guide the requirement definition, design and implementation of secure message gateways.
- Demonstrate competency working hands-on in Linux based environments.
- Develop new features and extensions to existing products using a variety of languages including Rust, C, C++, Java, and proprietary languages.
- Self-starter utilizing your Linux and scripting expertise to integrate new features and extensions into complex products.
- Leverage standard networking concepts to support the design and implementation of Cross Domain capabilities.
- Develop data inspection policies using proprietary and open-source programming languages.
- Provide technical briefings to customers and Everfox leadership as required.
- BS Computer Science, Computer Engineer, Information Security or equivalent 8+ years’ experience in software engineering, system engineering or related disciplines.
- Experience with software development in Linux environments using a variety of programming and scripting languages including Java, Python, Go, C/C++, and/or bash.
- Hands-on experience implementing TCP/IP networking & related protocols (such as HTTP, SSH, IPSEC, TLS/SSL, etc).
- Robust understanding of private and public keys and/or certificates.
- Experience with version control technologies such as Git.
- Red Hat Enterprise, Fedora or Ubuntu Linux operating systems.
- Ability to obtain Government Security Clearance if needed.
- Direct experience with Link
16, JREAP-C, TADIL-J, USMTF, VMF and related standards and protocols. - Experience with security design and architecture of Cross Domain solutions (CDS).
- Experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Gemini or Open Code.
- Agile or Scrum development experience.
- Experience with deploying cloud technologies such as MS Azure or AWS.
