As a Category Lead Senior Manager, you’ll lead with a digital first mindset balancing customer, enterprise, macro industry and competitive impacts. You’ll be responsible for developing the annual category strategy that delivers on customer experience and financial goals. You’ll manage omni-channel P&L and customer experience across merchandising, e-commerce and demand planning while managing vendor relationships and negotiations. Additionally, you will lead analysts to ensure individual functions are executed appropriately.
This is not for a specific category, but for the position/level across Category Management.
This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota, and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
What you’ll do- Build an inclusive working environment while developing employees and influencing internal cross‑functional and external partners.
- Oversee assortment strategy and transition management, developing promotional and pricing strategies, inventory management, and vendor management.
- Oversee all forecasting, budgeting, orders, and distribution of products.
- Develop seamless digital first experience grounded in customer need. Develop merchandising and fulfillment strategy starting with the online experience, ensuring there is a clear tie to in‑store experience and enabling virtual labor.
- Facilitate internal and external partnerships, identify trends, and execute business opportunities to accelerate growth and minimize risk.
- 4 years of experience in merchandising, demand planning, e-commerce, marketing, operations, customer experience, vendor management, or supply chain.
- 1 year of mentoring, cross‑functional team management, or influencing without authority.
- 1 year of experience communicating and partnering with vendors/3rd party.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- 4 years of dedicated functional experience across merchandising, demand/inventory planning, e-commerce site management, merchandise planning, or financial planning.
- 2 years of providing cross‑functional team direction.
- 1 year of people management experience.
- Experience in short and mid‑term strategy development and execution.
