The Director will ensure tutoring services are welcoming, accessible, and aligned with Snow College's mission to empower learners, support academic excellence, and foster student achievement.
* Bachelor's degree. Preferred degree in education, student affairs, learning assistance, or related field.
* Minimum 3 years of experience in academic support, tutoring, learning centers, student success, or higher education administration.
* Demonstrated experience supervising student employees or academic support staff.
* Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
* Experience designing academic support or tutoring programs.
* Commitment to student success in academic outcomes.
* Collaborative leadership and strong relationship-building skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and develop systems from scratch.
* Innovative problem-solving and strategic vision.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Center Development & Leadership
* Create and launch a centralized tutoring center and academic support hub.
* Develop mission, vision, goals, and service framework for tutoring programs.
* Establish policies, procedures, and operational workflows for the center.
* Oversee center space planning, scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation.
* Build a culture of student-centered learning, collaboration, and excellence.
Program Management & Innovation
* Adapt existing discipline-specific tutoring programs to a unified tutoring system with a range of services (in-person, online, group, drop-in, subject-specific, writing support, study skills, etc.).
* Adapt and unify systems for tutor scheduling, data tracking, and student appointment management.
* Implement evidence-based academic support strategies and peer-education best practices.
* Develop outreach strategies to improve usage and promote tutoring opportunities.
* Manage Snow College's partnership and utilization of as a key tool for tutoring support to online students and after hours.
Staffing, Training & Development
* In partnership with faculty experts, recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate tutors, student employees, and support staff.
* Develop and lead a comprehensive tutor training program (CRLA/NADE/NCLCA standards strongly preferred).
* Provide ongoing professional development and mentorship to tutors and staff.
Campus Collaboration & Partnerships
* Work closely with faculty, academic departments, advising, TRIO, accessibility services, library, and other student success units to coordinate support.
* Partner with faculty to align tutoring offerings with course needs and success strategies.
* Promote communication and shared initiatives across campus.
Assessment, Reporting & Improvement
* Collect, analyze, and report data on center usage, student success, retention, and learning outcomes.
* Use data to guide decision-making, program improvement, and resource requests.
* Monitor national trends and best practices in tutoring and learning assistance.
Budget & Resource Management
* Develop and manage center budget.
* Secure and allocate resources for technology, staffing, marketing, and training.
* Explore grants and funding opportunities to expand services.
