Snow College's Upward Bound Program is seeking a dynamic individual to mentor high school students at North Sanpete High School who are participating in Upward Bound. This position is responsible for monitoring participants' academic progress (GPA, test scores, attendance, arrange tutoring, etc.). as well as fulfilling program administrative paperwork as required by federal grant.
* Must be a current employee of North Sanpete High School
* Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
* Minimum of three years teaching or administrative experience.
* Must be a current employee of the faculty, administration, or staff at NSHS.
* Must be flexible in scheduling, with some evening commitments.
* Fluent in Spanish is beneficial.
* Candidates who have come from a similar background of program participants (low-income/first generation college students), are encouraged to apply.
* Annually recruit required number of participants for the UB program.
* Meet with participants weekly.
* Mentor participants and their parents for academic, financial, and career success.
* Arrange tutoring as needed.
* Monitor participants' weekly academic progress.
* Implement and teach monthly academic curriculum.
* Arrange two service projects during the academic year.
* Provide accurate documentation and tracking of participants as per grant requirements.
* Maintain on-going, supportive relationships with school leadership, faculty, and staff about the Upward Bound program.
* Be an advocate for low-income/first generation students at NSHS.
* Fulfill other duties as assigned.
