Snow College is seeking an EMS Program Coordinator with professional teaching, EMT and AEMT experience. The successful candidate will teach courses on the Snow College campus in Richfield and coordinate and oversee programs on the Ephraim campus as well as in the six‑county region.
Qualifications- Required EMT and AEMT certification.
- Required experience as a working EMT and AEMT.
- Required certification as an EMT course coordinator.
- Preferred experience teaching EMT courses.
- Preferred bachelor’s degree.
- Demonstrated ability to develop rapport and relate to students from a wide range of academic and social backgrounds.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and successfully in teams.
- Preferred experience with program and course assessment.
- Highly committed to faculty development and keeping current with trends in emergency services, as well as current best practices in teaching.
- Be adept in diverse instructional methods (i.e., face to face, online, hybrid, and IVC). Experience with the Canvas LMS preferred.
- Values and demonstrates attention to detail and deadlines.
- Ability to instruct students who come from a variety of educational backgrounds and age groups.
- Competence in general office technology, including word processing and spreadsheet programs.
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly in oral and written English.
- Familiarity with and commitment to the mission and role of Snow College in the Utah System of Higher Education.
- Take the lead on teaching an EMT and AEMT course on the Richfield campus and coordinating EMT and AEMT courses on the Ephraim campus.
- Take the lead on creating solid relationships with surrounding EMS agencies in the Six‑County Region.
- Take the lead on creating hybrid EMS courses in the Six‑County Region.
- Take the lead on selecting and purchasing equipment and supplies necessary for EMT and AEMT courses.
- Teach evening or weekend courses, depending on demand from working adult population.
- Develop and update EMT curriculum based on industry needs and requirements.
- Prepare students to take and pass state certification and national exams.
- Collaborate with EMS professionals in the region.
- Develop collaborative relationships with colleagues at Snow, at the transfer institutions, and with external constituents, including advisory committees.
- Participate in course and program assessment. Advise and mentor students.
- Lead and organize special programming and/or events as assigned.
- Participate in campus‑wide committees and serve the campus and community at large.
- Participate in program recruiting efforts by visiting high schools in the Six‑County Region, job fairs, local EMS fairs, parades, etc. as opportunities arise.
- Other duties as assigned.
This is a full‑time professional‑track position. 11‑month annual contract. An excellent benefits package.
