Maintenance Technician III

Maintenance Technician III is critical in ensuring the efficient operation of CNC machinery and other equipment. They perform maintenance on CNC equipment to ensure it operates efficiently and safely, troubleshoot and diagnose issues with CNC machines and equipment, and maintain all equipment in the shop. A Maintenance Technician III also collaborates daily with the Maintenance Supervisor about daily tasks for the team and discusses any complex necessary machining repairs.

Essential duties and responsibilities include performing routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance on CNC machines to ensure they operate efficiently and safely, troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with CNC machines and equipment, teaching Maintenance Technician Is and IIs how to troubleshoot and diagnose machine issues, calibrating machines to maintain precision and accuracy in production, ensuring that CNC machines and equipment meet safety standards and regulations, suggesting improvements to enhance machine performance, reliability, and efficiency, maintaining and repairing the building and all equipment inside it, keeping organized documentation of what maintenance is performed on all equipment, engaging in daily discussions with the Maintenance Supervisor about daily tasks for all maintenance department team members, and performing work on and with aerial lifts.

Minimum qualifications include ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, great mechanical skills, strong interest in industrial maintenance, machine tools, electrical wiring, diagnosing mechanical issues, welding, and building maintenance, excellent teamwork, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, ability to use various hand tools effectively and safely, strong knowledge of safety protocols, 5+ years of CNC machine repairs and maintenance, basic computer proficiency, including data entry skills and familiarity with various software programs, and strong team leadership skills and training abilities.

Preferred qualifications include technical degree in Industrial Maintenance, apprenticeship or vocational training, 10+ years of CNC machine repairs and maintenance, and high school degree or equivalent.

Physical and mental demands include standing, walking, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, and bending to the floor, exerting 1 to 25 pounds of force 75% of the time, exerting 26 to 50 pounds of force 20% of the time, exerting 50 plus pounds of force 5% of the time, ability to read machine dial gages, blueprints, precision measuring instruments, and computer screens, reading English and understanding sketches, routings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, communicating effectively with employees, and ability to work in a man lift at high heights.

Working environment includes indoor shop-based position, moderate noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, machining fumes, dust, and mist, and skin exposed to oils and cutting fluids.
