Senior CNC Machinist

Strohwig Industries Inc in Richfield, WI seeks a Senior CNC Machinist to set up, program, and operate large CNC machines producing complex, tight-tolerance components for energy, aerospace, and heavy equipment customers. You'll interpret blueprints and GD&T, select tooling, verify quality with precision measuring tools, and troubleshoot machining issues. Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate large CNC machining centers to produce complex, tight-tolerance components
• Interpret blueprints, models, and GD&T to plan machining operations and verify conformance
• Select tooling, set offsets, and optimize feeds/speeds for quality and efficiency
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments
• Troubleshoot machining issues, make program/offset adjustments, and resolve dimensional concerns
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and fabrication teams to solve manufacturing challenges
• Maintain equipment, follow safety procedures, and support 5
• S/lean practices on the shop floor
• Train and mentor junior machinists and support continuous improvement initiatives

Required Skills

• CNC machine setup and operation (mills/boring mills/gantry machines)
• G-code programming and editing at the control
• Blueprint and GD&T interpretation
• Use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gages, height gages)
• CAM or offline programming familiarity
• Tooling selection and optimization of cutting parameters
• Working with large, heavy components and overhead lifting
• Preventive maintenance and basic machine troubleshooting
• Knowledge of tight-tolerance and high-precision machining practices
• Adherence to safety, quality, and lean manufacturing procedures
