Construction Supervisor
This is a 6 month contract with possibility to extend until the end of the year. On-site position in Richland, Mississippi. Minimum 20 years of experience required.
Education:
Some college coursework in technical & construction management. Preferred someone experienced or retired with vast experience as Utility Supervisor and Construction Management oversight. No travel required except the location listed in the job posting.
The candidate will be supervising contractors but will not be directing the work of the contractors. The candidate will have HSE responsibilities, however this position is more focused on contractor oversight, contractor management, subcontractor oversight management, and making sure that the deliverables of the project are being achieved in accordance with regulatory requirements in a safe cost effective manner.
Responsibilities typically include:
Project implementation for short-term results (1 year or less). Problems faced are difficult to moderately complex. Influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices and procedures. Ensures project deliverables are achieved – cost, schedule, quality. Multiple projects will be in progress at a site. The expectation is to periodically visit all the projects during the day/shift, but not to be continuous at one project the entire day/shift.
Responsibilities typically include setting goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results. Problems faced may be difficult but typically are not complex. Ensures work is being performed in accordance with regulatory requirements especially OSHA requirements. All work should adhere to local statutes and laws. Unsafe behaviors and conditions are to be reported and corrected expediently. Multiple violations will be addressed appropriately.
Developing and implementing policies and practices to identify/mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace and external environments. Assist with investigating accidents and environmental incidents and liaising with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities to identify causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence. Providing advice and training on safety protocols and conducting audits to ensure compliance with organization and government standards related to environmental and employee heath and safety.
Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by all stakeholders. Coordinates work between the various contractors on a project and may at times assume the role of general contractor.

Top three required qualifications:
- Construction Experience (Must Have) Requirement: 10–15 years of construction experience
- Project Management Experience (Must Have) Requirement: 10–15 years of project management experience
- Engineering Background (Preferred) Requirement:
Engineering degree or engineering background preferred
