Senior Scheduler

Compensation $156,000 to $195,000 on a 1099 basis (Equivalent to $270,000 on a W-2)

Role Description

The Senior Scheduler is a full-time, on-site role based in Jackson, MS, responsible for leading the development, maintenance, and analysis of detailed construction schedules for complex projects. This position prepares, updates, and reviews CPM schedules, including baseline schedules, progress updates, and recovery plans, ensuring alignment with project scope, budget, and contractual requirements. The Senior Scheduler collaborates closely with project managers, site supervisors, engineers, and clients to gather schedule inputs, validate activity logic and durations, and provide schedule forecasts and risk assessments.

Daily responsibilities include monitoring progress, performing variance and delay analyses, identifying schedule risks and opportunities, and recommending corrective actions to keep projects on track. The role also involves contributing to project controls reporting, supporting construction delay claims and time-impact analyses, and mentoring team members on best practices in scheduling and project controls.

Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in construction scheduling tools and techniques (e.g., CPM scheduling, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and the ability to build and maintain detailed, resource-loaded schedules.
  • Demonstrated experience in construction project controls, including progress measurement, variance analysis, forecasting, and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of construction delay claims, time-impact analysis, and cost damages assessment, with the ability to support claim documentation and dispute resolution.
  • Understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and field operations, ideally across commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to interpret contracts, specifications, and drawings and translate them into accurate schedule activities and logic.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with attention to detail and a focus on accuracy.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to present schedule information clearly to technical and non-technical detaild
