HVAC Senior Controls Technician

What you will do

• Service & repair, design, configuration, operation of HVAC building control systems and other low voltage control sub-systems.
• Accountable for quality, timeliness, and efficiency of service & repair and designs.
• Develop complex software programs, commission, and solve to ensure proper operations of the building control system.
• Provide detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, sales, service team, and subcontractors.

• Design, configure and service technically complex building control systems.
• Create flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of materials, network layouts, schedules, and electrical schematics as required.
• Develop and test software programs necessary to operate the system per customer facility requirements.
• Coordinate and create necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals, services and/or installation.
• Select, order, and track the delivery of materials for assigned jobs.
• Assist with loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required.
• Assist in validating complete system functionality and solve problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
• Provide field change information to the team for the creation of as‑built drawings and software.
• Keep management, contractor, and customer informed of job progress and issues.
• Assist in performing site‑specific training for owner/operator on the total building control system.
• Participate in coordination and release meetings with sales and service operations.
• Perform value engineering to provide cost‑effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction.
• May provide work direction to Service Controls Technician I, Senior I, and Senior II Controls Technicians.
• Adhere to safety standards and maintain a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety.

• Required Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or minimum eight (8) years’ experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the construction or service, or HVAC industry.
• Demonstrated knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and other building subsystems.
• Demonstrated experience integrating low voltage building sub‑systems using various industry protocols (e.g., LON, BACnet).
• Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non‑technical audience.
• Demonstrated advanced computer skills, particularly computer‑related drafting tools.

Hourly rate: $33–$41.
