Job Overview
This position is eligible for a sign‑on bonus. It involves routine inspections, testing, service, and preventive maintenance on electrical, sprinkler, and suppression life‑safety product lines. The role supports low‑voltage wiring and related equipment and ensures proper documentation and scheduling.
Responsibilities- Inspect, test, service, and perform preventive maintenance on electrical, sprinkler, and suppression life‑safety product lines.
- Work with low‑voltage wiring and devices related to low‑voltage equipment operation.
- Complete service acknowledgements with appropriate coding via laptop computers and/or hard copy.
- Maintain a structured inspection schedule and input, retrieve, archive inspection documents via laptop or mobile device.
- Perform assigned inspections on time.
- Make minor repairs and programming changes to systems being inspected.
- Provide technical training to less senior inspectors and trainees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 3‑4 years documented experience in low‑voltage electrical systems and fire and/or life‑safety systems.
- Strong troubleshooting aptitude.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Physical capability to carry equipment up to 50‑70 lbs, climb ladders, scaffolding, high‑lift equipment up to 40 ft, work in ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Availability for flexible hours, including weekends.
- Self‑starter with minimal supervision.
- Adheres to safety guidelines and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and quick learning ability.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to obtain and retain required licenses per national, state, and local codes.
- Experience with hand tools, multimeter usage, and reading/interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs, schematics, and operational/product manuals.
- NICET certification preferred.
