Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and trustworthy Accounting Specialist to support the financial operations of our fast-paced legal environment. This is a growth-focused position offering hands‑on training and mentorship from our current accounting lead, with a clear path toward expanded financial responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and reconcile vendor, client records and general ledger accounts
  • Monitor cash flow
  • Support month‑end closing processes as directed by the Accounting Office Manager
  • Assist with accounts payable/receivable data entry and general ledger maintenance
  • Process settlement payments to clients
  • Reconcile trust accounts to trust funds
  • Learn all processes in accounting department
Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Associate degree in accounting, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Must have some college level accounting classes
  • 3–5+ years of professional accounting experience, including month‑end close and financial reporting
Technical Skills & Knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience with accounting, payroll, and financial management systems
  • Familiarity with Quick Books or similar accounting software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous bookkeeping experience
  • Background in a law firm or small business setting
