Academic Engagement Coordinator | WSU Tri Cities (Richland, WA)
Job SummaryAs the Academic Engagement Coordinator, you will promote innovative ideas and solutions to advance student academic success and professional development, and drive and reinforce students’ academic and career-connected learning through evaluation and enhancement of resources, processes, and events affiliated with the Office of Academic Engagement.
Responsibilities- Promote innovative ideas and solutions to advance student academic success and professional development.
- Drive and reinforce students’ academic and career-connected learning through evaluation and enhancement of resources, processes, and events affiliated with the Office of Academic Engagement, including the Library, Writing Center, Tutoring Center, and Undergraduate Research.
- Serve as the primary contact for internal and external constituents and manage the office administration for the College of Arts & Sciences.
- Assist with faculty recruitment and onboarding, travel processing, purchasing and budget management, event coordination, and course scheduling.
- Support the Academic Director in the interpretation and enforcement of faculty policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent AND three years of clerical, office or administrative experience.
- OR an Associate’s degree in business administration, public administration, or a closely related field may substitute for experience AND one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant 2 or two years as an Administrative Assistant 1.
- OR equivalent education/experience.
- Strong organizational skills and willingness to take initiative.
- Ability to coordinate multiple programs and deadlines and solve problems for a wide range of complex tasks.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, including productive and collaborative working relationships with a broad range of internal and external constituents or customers.
- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel.
- Ability to coordinate multiple programs and deadlines.
- Experience working in an environment requiring high attention to detail.
- Experience working collaboratively within a team and across organizational lines.
- Higher education experience.
- Knowledge of Washington State University including experience with university policies and procedures, particularly with course scheduling processes and procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and function positively in a fast paced professional environment.
- Knowledge of pedagogical approaches and/or research practices at the collegiate level.
- Experience working with a multi-campus system, academic rules, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of admissions and recruitment processes.
- Experience with WSU administrative information systems (myWSU and Workday).
- Experience working with student records.
Employment type:
Classified, Full Time, Permanent, 12‑Month Term, On‑Site/In‑Person.
Full-time (100% FTE), overtime eligible.
Salary range: $3,925.00 to $5,271.00 per month.
