Childcare Instructional Assistant – Infants and Toddlers

SUMMARY:
Assist daycare leads and preschool teachers in implementing instructional programs within a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop their academic potential.

• High School Diploma
• Computer skills in Word, Spreadsheets, and Data Entry
• Preferred: CDA or Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field

• Under supervision, assist in managing behavior and procedures conducive to learning across classroom and school areas.
• Assist in planning and directing learning activities.
• Work with small groups of learners to meet educational needs.
• Help meet physical needs of students, including toileting, diaper changing, feeding, and personal care tasks.
• Assist in classroom and instructional organization, including material preparation.
• Participate in in-service training programs to upgrade knowledge and skills.
• Support teachers in meeting the academic needs of students.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and students to address academic, social, physical, and emotional needs.
• Ensure children are adequately supervised at all times and maintain proper ratios.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Continuously sit and talk or hear. Repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motion many times. Lift or move up to 20-30 pounds. Safely lift a young child as needed.
