Vacancy – CTE TV Broadcasting Teacher, High School (JULY 1, 2026 DEADLINE)

Reports To:

Building Principal and Director of Career and Technical Education

Qualifications
  • Valid Washington State Career & Technical Education certification (CTE) in CTE Broadcast/Video Production (VCode 100201 and 090701) OR ability to obtain endorsement within two (2) calendar years of the date of hire with proper industry experience.
  • Non-teaching work experience related to TV Broadcasting
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications, or ability to earn.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technology and its application in the classroom.

Note:

Business and Industry candidates can be qualified for this position via the Washington State Plan 2 CTE Business & Industry route with relevant industry experience in Business, Computer Sciences, STEM, and/or Media/Communications. Performance Responsibilities
  • Teach subjects as outlined in OSPI approved curriculum frameworks.
  • Demonstrate commitment to sustain an outstanding program in alignment to RSD, Washington State CTE program standards.
  • Teach and assess career and college readiness standards as aligned to 21st Century Skills as required for CTE programs.
  • Teach and assess leadership skills involving both in-class and out-of-class activities.
  • Develop and maintain positive motivation to support high levels of student learning.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate all learners.
  • Collaborate with instructional colleagues within a Professional Learning Community to improve student achievement.
  • Attend required program advisory committees and implement recommendations as approved by committee.
  • Communicate with parents, colleagues, counselors, and administration regarding student progress as needed.
  • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed in support of a safe and engaging learning atmosphere in the classroom.
  • Evaluate student learning and modify teaching strategies as necessary to ensure the success of all students.
  • Maintain professional competence and certification through attendance at professional conferences, in-service events, and self-directed professional growth activities.
  • Utilize technology to impact student learning.
