Job Duties / Scope Of Work

Responsible for writing, checking, executing switching orders, directing craftsmen in routine and emergency operations on the sites transmission and distribution systems. Analyze the electrical system and control abnormal and emergency conditions using established procedures or policies. Operate computerized systems (i.e., SCADA) to operate remote switching devices, monitor alarms and system conditions. Make accurate and complete entries of all operations activities, system configuration changes, alarms and problems in the dispatcher's daily log.

Red line Electrical Utilities switching diagrams and update dispatcher's mimic board to ensure all system permanent and temporary configuration changes are recorded. Establish safe working areas through system configuration changes. Issue and receive safe working clearances. Cooperate with other regional transmission and distribution dispatchers of interconnected power systems in maintaining system reliability and direct others. Coordinate with the Bonneville Power Administration and operation and maintenance of the Hanford transmission system in maintaining system reliability per requirements of Energy Northwest's Columbia Generating Station.

Develop and submit required outage and load shift reports to Bonneville Power Administration billing office.

Basic Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess one or more of the following: journeyman electrician, journeyman lineman, trade school certification or associate's degree in electrical.
  • 5-10 years electrical transmission and distribution experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential badge.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous Hanford transmission and distribution experience is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with switching orders and clearances is also strongly recommended.
Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Rate: $63.756

The pay rate listed represents the starting rate of pay/HR that may be offered, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
