Join us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.

Siting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.

This position is responsible for development and implementation of programmatic and technical activities relating to spares program for the High-Level Waste Facility. This position requires interface with groups across the project, supporting Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) and commissioning and operations. In this position the engineer will develop program documents, procedures, specifications, and evaluations in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements.

In addition, the engineer will work with other groups such as engineering and construction automation, and engineering discipline groups in a team environment. This work will be performed under direction of the Quality Engineering Manager. The ability to coordinate and facilitate technical discussions to resolve issues involving management as well as line personnel is required. The successful applicant will have the ability to interact with all levels of staff in an effective and diplomatic manner.

They will also have a demonstrated ability to take the initiative to solve problems and develop practical solutions for implementation.

Part-Time Telework:
This position is a full-time role that offers part-time telework flexibility in the Richland, Washington project office. Upon initial hire and onboarding, the position will require full time presence in the Richland, Washington project office, then may offer part-time telework flexibility. This position works a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off.

This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.
