The Senior Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity Engineer operates as part of the OT Cybersecurity group reporting to the Engineering Group Supervisor (EGS). The Senior OT Cybersecurity Engineer has a key role in developing and delivering design engineering products to meet Department of Energy (DOE) cybersecurity requirements and security controls. These products will be integrated into other WTP systems and processes. A good knowledge of the design engineering work process and industry OT governance frameworks, procedures, and practices is important to success.

The ideal candidate will have experience successfully working with Systems Engineering, OT Cybersecurity, and Control Systems in the specification, design, and deployment of highly reliable and secure environments that meet the customer mandated cybersecurity requirements. The Senior OT Cyber Engineer will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting cybersecurity requirements and determining appropriate implementations for WTP permanent plant systems. This position will be a critical and independent contributor in the design engineering process;

originating discipline deliverables and coordinating activities with multiple functions and disciplines as well as with internal and external stakeholders, as required. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs. Additionally, the position requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Part-Time Telework:
This position is a full-time role that offers part-time telework flexibility in the Richland, Washington project office. Upon initial hire and onboarding, the position will require full time presence in the Richland, Washington project office, then may offer part-time telework flexibility. This position works a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off.

• Responsible for executing OT Cyber engineering work assignments related to Department of Energy (DOE) engineering requirements, in accordance with the NIST SP 800-53 standard. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope, and may involve development of novel concepts, approaches, and solutions.
• Interfacing and coordinating with other engineering disciplines, partners, and suppliers in the design and verification of the facility OT cybersecurity requirements.
• The position will be responsible for developing key design engineering documents and must have a broad knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, and design criteria pertinent to engineering and construction.
• Evaluates, selects, and applies standard OT Cyber engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
• Interpretation of cybersecurity requirements and implementation of the requirements in engineered systems.
• Participates in the design, development and modification of control system and telecommunications components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
• Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines.
• Coordinates OT Cyber engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction, and other functional groups.
• Prepares conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals.
• Provides technical assistance to other OT Cyber personnel and interacts with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standards.
