We are seeking an Estimator (Purchasing) to service our transportation projects in Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Candidates may work out of our Annapolis Junction (MD) or Richmond (VA) offices.

As a Purchasing Estimator, you will prepare and coordinate estimate packages for subcontractors and material vendors related to transportation projects across our regions. You will work on a range of projects from highway rehabilitation to large mega-projects.

• Civil Engineering, Industrial Management, or related degree preferred but not required.
• Experience in estimating, engineering, or procurement support for heavy civil projects preferred.
• Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software preferred.

• Review project documents and specifications.
• Solicit and analyze material and subcontract quotes.
• Maintain records of cost estimates and historical prices.
• Coordinate subcontracted work and ensure scope coverage.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Explore Value Engineering opportunities.
• Assist with subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Coordinate with project operations to resolve issues and maintain schedules.
• Support diversity goals and outreach efforts.
• Build relationships with vendors and industry partners.
• Participate in industry events.

• Ability to read engineering documents and construction plans.
• Knowledge of construction standards and contracts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication skills.
